Favorite Memory as a Sister of Sigma Omega Nu?

My favorite memory has been taking a road trip with my sunnie family to Solvang, CA. I had such a great time getting to know my sisters and sharing some wine together.

Why did you chose to pursue a degree in Political Science?

I chose to pursue a degree in political science because I wanted to go into law. Once in school I changed my mind about my career path. I like helping people so I’ve gone into Human Resources because I’ve always had an interest in labor laws.

What are some words of advice for Sisters still working on their degrees?

My advice would be to learn and practice different crafts. This helps you decide where your true passion is.

Graduating Class of 2019

Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Studies

Favorite Memory as a Sister of Sigma Omega Nu?

My favorite memory being apart of Sigma Omega Nu will always be when my line sisters and I crossed and the night before.

Why did u choose you to pursue a career in Criminal Justice?

I’m currently working into getting in my field and becoming a corrections officer at a juvenile detention facility. Why corrections?… because I’ve known to many people in my neighborhood who’ve been in juvie. I want to help my own people and those around me. I want them to know and understand that they’re good officers who actually want change and leave a positive impact in a person’s life.

What are some words of advice for Sisters still working on their degrees?

Always check up on your love ones and those you care about. Life is to precious. Anything could happen especially during these times that we are currently facing. Don’t take them for granted.

Favorite Memory as a Sister of Sigma Omega Nu?

My favorite memory of being part of Sigma Omega Nu has to be picking up my little. My one and only little sunshine is basically my mini me and the bond we have is irreplaceable, so her big and little reveal was so special to me.

Why did u choose you to pursue a career in your field?

I chose to pursue a career in law and attempt to become a lawyer because I want to enact change in the world. I’ve always been interested in the way the justice system works and how it needs a lot of reform so it encouraged me to become a lawyer and help fix things from the inside.

What are some words of advice for Sisters still working on their degrees?

My advice to other sisters is to reach out to each other and try communicate as much as possible. We have all these amazing opportunities in front of us, you should take advantage of it. Reach out to alumni and other chapters, we are a family and are always there to lend a helping hand.

What are some words of advice for Sisters still working on their degrees?

KEEP PUSHING THROUGH! I know it’s so challenging & yes majority of the time you’re going to want to give up but never feed into that desire, always keep going even if the motivation is no longer there. Find that new motivation & stick with it. Life is not easy and the best lessons learned come from the toughest battles we face, remember that!

You all got this!
